Introduction
Hello and welcome to The Youth Pulse. I am so excited to write this first post and to create many more in the future. If you’re reading this, welcome, and thank you for taking the time to get to know this heath blog.
My name is Lincoln, and I am currently a rising junior in high school with a passion for healthcare, writing, and making people feel seen. I created this blog because I believe teen health, whether it is mental, physical, or emotional, is something we as humans don’t talk about enough, and definitely not in a way that feels personal, relatable, or real.
As someone working toward a future in the medical field, I’ve already earned a few certifications like CPR, EKG, and Stop the Bleed. But through those experiences, I realized that knowledge means nothing if we can’t connect it to people. I want this blog to be a space where health doesn’t feel like a textbook topic, I want it to feel like life, because it is.
Why The Youth Pulse?
I picked the name for this blog because it’s about more than just biology or a formal topic, it’s about the heartbeat of our generation. Our stress, burnout, drive, voices, goals, health. Whether it’s a reflection on mental health inspired by relatable life-events, tips on getting certified as a teen, or interviews with future healthcare workers, I want this blog to capture what it feels like to grow up while trying to help others. And not just help, but understand.
What You’ll Find Here:
This isn’t just a blog for pre-med students. It’s for any teen who:
Wants to learn more about their health
Has thought about a future in healthcare
Feels overwhelmed by all the pressure we’re under
Just wants to feel a little more human in the chaos of high school
You’ll see stories, reflections, interviews, and hopefully some laughs along the way. I’ll talk about everything from what it’s like to get certified in CPR, to what Chipotle has to do with coping, to why a Netflix show shifted the way I talk to people.
What I Hope to Build
I don’t want this to be just my voice. Over time, I’d love to feature other students who are passionate about health, medicine, writing, or advocacy. If you have something to say about teen wellness, or a story to share, let’s talk. This is about building something together.
Thank you again for being here, I can’t wait to see where this goes.
🩺Stay steady,
Lincoln
